Steven Denholtz Awarded Charles Klatskin Lifetime Achievement Award from NAIOP NJ

Denholtz Properties is honored to announce that CEO Steven Denholtz has received the Charles Klatskin Lifetime Achievement Award from NAIOP NJ, New Jersey’s premier organization for developers, owners, and professionals in commercial real estate. The award, presented at NAIOP NJ’s 37th Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala on May 16 at The Palace at Somerset Park, recognizes Steven’s outstanding career contributions and lasting impact on New Jersey’s commercial real estate industry.

The annual NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Awards celebrate the state’s top industry leaders. The Charles Klatskin Lifetime Achievement Award is given to executives who demonstrate excellence throughout their careers and who are poised to continue shaping the industry’s future.

Joining Denholtz Properties in 1985, Steven has embodied NAIOP NJ’s mission to advance responsible and sustainable development, investing time, resources, and expertise to benefit local communities. His leadership has propelled Denholtz Properties’ growth and its commitment to creating resilient, community-focused developments.

“Steven Denholtz has exemplified the power of real estate investment to drive positive change in local communities,” said Dan Kennedy, CEO of NAIOP NJ. “We congratulate Steven on this honor and look forward to his continued contributions to New Jersey’s commercial real estate landscape.”

Reflecting on the recognition, Steven said, “To join the ranks of past award recipients is an immense honor. I extend my gratitude to the Denholtz Properties team, past and present, for supporting my growth as a leader, and I look forward to our future accomplishments.”

In recent years under Steven’s guidance, Denholtz Properties’ assets under management have surpassed $2 billion, and its workforce has expanded to over 100 employees. In 2019, Steven led the firm’s relocation from Matawan to Red Bank, N.J., marking a new phase for the company and deepening its ties to the Red Bank community. The firm also completed a full renovation of its headquarters, establishing Denholtz Properties as a key player in one of New Jersey’s most vibrant towns.

Alongside President Stephen Cassidy, Steven has expanded the firm’s presence into the southeastern United States. Since 2020, the firm has significantly grown its portfolio in Orlando and Tampa, Fla., and has established new operations in Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Denholtz Properties’ expansion is driven by a commitment to talent development and an inclusive workplace. Many executive team members started in entry-level positions, highlighting the firm’s dedication to growth from within. Steven is also an advocate for increasing women’s representation in commercial real estate, with several women now among the company’s senior leaders and ongoing efforts to open more pathways for women in the industry.

Beyond his leadership in commercial real estate, Steven actively supports numerous community organizations. Denholtz Properties partners with Lunch Break in Red Bank, a nonprofit that provides food, clothing, and life skills to Monmouth County residents. Steven also serves on the board of the Monmouth Conservation Foundation and has contributed his time to Monmouth University’s Kislak School of Real Estate, Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and the Count Basie Center for the Arts.
